Content rights and reposting policy

RepostHub is a publishing tool. It does not grant you rights to any content. Before reposting content you did not create, you need the creator’s permission and you must follow the rules of each platform you publish to. This page explains what that means in practice, how to credit sources, and how to report content that infringes your rights.

Is it legal to repost someone else's content?

Content is protected by copyright from the moment it is created — no registration or © symbol required. Reposting someone else’s content without permission is infringement in most jurisdictions, and that remains true whether or not you credit the creator. Crediting is not permission. It is the single most common misconception among page operators.

Platform terms add a separate layer of obligation on top of copyright: each network has its own rules about reposted content, and breaking them can cost you the account even where the law is on your side. Fair use and fair dealing exist, but they are narrow, fact-specific exceptions — not a general licence for reposting.

Getting permission

1. Contact the creator directly — a DM or email is fine.
2. Ask specifically for permission to repost to the accounts and platforms you’ll actually use, by name.
3. Get the answer in writing and keep a record.
4. Honour any conditions — credit format, no edits, removal on request.
5. Remove the content promptly if permission is withdrawn.

A request that works, copy-paste ready:

Hi — I run [account] on [platform]. I’d love to repost your [video/post] ([link]) to [list the accounts and platforms]. I’ll credit you as [@handle] in the caption and will take it down any time you ask. Is that okay with you?

Crediting and attribution

A good credit names the creator’s handle, the platform the content came from, and links back where the destination platform allows it. Tagging the creator’s account is stronger than text alone — it notifies them and makes the credit verifiable.

RepostHub’s caption prefix and suffix options exist for exactly this: set a credit line once per source or account and it is added to every post automatically, so attribution never depends on remembering to type it. And to repeat the point above — credit accompanies permission; it does not replace it.

Content RepostHub does not allow

• Content that infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark, or other rights
• Sexual content involving minors — reported to authorities, zero tolerance
• Illegal content of any kind
• Harassment, threats, or content targeting private individuals
• Impersonation of people or brands
• Content that violates the terms of service of the platform it is posted to
• Spam and engagement manipulation

How RepostHub handles your content

You connect accounts you control, and content you import or upload is stored in your private library — it is not shared with other users or published anywhere until you queue it. Disconnecting an account stops publishing to it immediately, and you can request full deletion of your account and data at any time via the data deletion page.

Reporting infringement

If content published through RepostHub infringes your rights, email team@reposthub.xyz with: a link to the infringing content, a link to or copy of your original work, a statement that you own the rights or are authorized to act for the owner, and your contact details.

We review every report. Content shown by a valid report to be infringing is removed from RepostHub’s library and queue, and accounts that accumulate repeated valid complaints are terminated.
